The 08+ generation of J-Series comes with aggressive precats that are great for emissions, but hinder performance. Traditional headers are obsolete on J-Series engines as the cylinder head has a built in collector that feeds into the pre-catalytic converters. Before the exhaust gas can reach the J-Pipe, it is stuffed through these restrictive cats.
RV6’s High Flow Precats address the issue by replacing the mass produced, factory units with 304 stainless tubing and a 300 cell catalytic core. In addition to using larger diameter tubing, the cats are capable of higher temperatures.
The entire system, including tubing, flanges and cast transitions are made of stainless steel. The Precats are hand welded by master welders, not before they are back purged to ensure the welds look as good on the inside as the outside.
