Action Clutch Stage 1 Clutch Kit - 1994-2001 Acura Integra

The Action Clutch Stage 1 kit is a direct replacement for your factory clutch with about 70% more holding power. It's designed for stock Integras or Integras with basic bolt-ons like intake, header, and exhaust. The clutch uses a copper-infused Kevlar organic friction disc instead of plain organic material. It grabs harder than your stock clutch but it still feels smooth and it doesn't chatter. The pedal feel is close to stock - way lighter and smoother than Stage 2, 3, or 4 clutches. If you're bone stock or you're running mild bolt-ons and you just need a clutch that works without being aggressive, this is it.

Here's What You're Getting

The Stage 1 uses a steel-backed copper Kevlar organic friction disc. It's still organic material like your factory clutch, but it's got copper and Kevlar mixed in. The copper helps dissipate heat better than plain organic material, and the Kevlar adds strength. You're getting better heat resistance and longer life than a stock clutch, but you're not jumping to ceramic or puck-style discs that chatter and grab hard. The pressure plate is a heavy-duty single diaphragm that clamps harder than your stock pressure plate. That's where the extra holding power comes from. Action claims this clutch holds 187 ft-lbs of torque at the crank. That's enough for stock B series or B series with mild bolt-ons.

Stock Pedal Feel, No Chatter

The Stage 1 feels almost like your factory clutch. The pedal's slightly heavier but not by much. The engagement is smooth and progressive, it doesn't grab suddenly like ceramic clutches do. There's no chatter when you're taking off from a stop. If you want a clutch that works like stock but holds a bit more power, this is what you get. If you want aggressive engagement and way more holding power, you need Stage 2 or higher.

Fits VTEC and Non-VTEC Transmissions

This clutch fits both VTEC and non-VTEC Integra transmissions. Whether you've got a B18B LS, B18C1 GS-R, or B18C5 Type R, this clutch works. The disc has the correct spline count and diameter for all 1994-2001 Integra applications.

Break It In or You'll Glaze the Disc

You need to break this clutch in properly. Action requires 500 miles of normal street driving with RPMs under 4500 and no more than half throttle. No hard launches, no clutch kicks, and no boost if you're running forced induction. If you don't break it in properly, the organic material will glaze and the clutch won't grab like it's supposed to. A glazed clutch slips and it won't hold the power it's rated for. Follow the break-in procedure or you'll void your warranty and the clutch won't work right.

Note: The Stage 1 is for stock or lightly modified Integra's. If you're running a turbo, supercharger, or you're making way more power than stock, this clutch isn't strong enough. You need Stage 2 or higher. Resurface or replace your flywheel when you install this clutch. Don't put a new clutch on a scored or warped flywheel. It won't engage smoothly.
