Stage 2 Kevlar Disc, Smooth Engagement
The clutch disc uses steel-backed segmented Kevlar friction material. Kevlar handles heat better than organic material and it lasts longer under hard use, but it needs higher clamping force to work properly. That's why the kit includes a single diaphragm heavy-duty pressure plate. The pedal effort's slightly higher than stock but it's not a heavy race clutch pedal. Engagement's smooth and progressive after the break-in period, so you're not dealing with the on-off grab that makes puck clutches annoying in traffic.
Reuse Your Factory Flywheel
This kit's designed to work with your factory flywheel. You're not buying a lightweight flywheel or dealing with the extra vibration that comes with one. Just have your factory flywheel resurfaced at a machine shop before installing the new clutch. Resurfacing removes hot spots and glazing so the new clutch disc beds in properly.
Fully Enclosed Spring Retainers
The clutch disc uses fully enclosed spring retainers. This prevents the springs from coming out of the disc under extreme loads, which can happen with cheap clutches and cause catastrophic damage to your engine or transmission. Action Clutch's spring retainers are designed to keep the springs in place no matter how hard you're driving.
1,000 Mile Break-In Period
Kevlar clutch discs need a 1,000 mile break-in period before they're fully seated. That means easy driving for the first thousand miles. No hard launches, no slipping the clutch under load, no track days. If you don't break it in properly, the clutch won't grab consistently and you'll have issues. Follow the break-in instructions that come with the kit.
