EBC RP-X Race Brake Pads - 2020-2026 Toyota GR Supra (Front & Rear)

Most race pads make you earn their performance. You get a lap or two of vague, wooden brakes while the compound comes up to temperature, and only then does the car stop the way you expected. The RP-X doesn't work that way. It hits a 0.55 friction coefficient from ambient temperature all the way up to 750°C, which means full braking performance on your very first application, stone cold. If you sprint race, run hill climbs, or just don't want to spend your out lap waiting on your brakes, this is the pad.

100% Cold Bite Is The Whole Point

This is what separates RP-X from most of the race pad market. Plenty of compounds only hit their advertised friction number once they're hot, which is fine for a long endurance stint and terrible for anything short. Hill climb runs are over in a couple of minutes. Sprint races are decided in the first few corners. Autocross gives you one shot. In all of those, a pad that needs heat is a pad that's underperforming exactly when it counts.

RP-X holds that 0.55 rating from freezing cold to 1400°F, so the first stop of the session feels identical to the last. It's a genuinely different experience if you've been running pads that need a warm-up lap.

Aggressive Bite, Firm Pedal

The character of this pad is sharp. You get an intensely aggressive initial bite and a firm, commanding pedal, which suits drivers who want the car to take a real set the moment they touch the brakes rather than building pressure progressively. If you like sharp deceleration and a pedal that responds immediately, that's what RP-X is built around. And despite how hard it bites, EBC formulated it for real longevity through endurance racing and repeated circuit abuse, so you're not trading pad life for performance.

Backing Plate Details That Actually Matter

Two things here worth understanding. The pads use NUCAP NRS backing plates, which mechanically lock the friction material to the plate rather than relying on adhesive alone. At the temperatures a race pad sees, adhesive bonds are exactly what fail, and a delaminated pad on track is a very bad afternoon. The NRS system is there to prevent it.

The plates are also premium stainless steel, which does something practical: stainless transfers less heat into your caliper than standard steel. That means less heat soaking into your brake fluid and pistons, and no blistered caliper paint after a hard session. On a Supra that's already generating serious heat under braking, keeping it out of the caliper is worth something.

Front And Rear, Sold Separately

Choose the set you need at checkout. Each set covers one axle, so a front set does both front corners and a rear set does both rear corners.

  • Front: EBC-DP82302RPX
  • Rear: EBC-DP82415RPX

Most people going to track pads do both ends to keep the brake balance right, but if you're only replacing what's worn, buy the axle you need.

These Are Race Pads, Not Street Pads

Being straight with you about what you're buying. RP-X is designed strictly for competitive track and motorsport use, and it is not R90 approved for road use in European markets. Race compounds behave differently on the street too, they can be noisy, they're harder on rotors than a street pad, and they're built for a duty cycle a commuter car never sees. If your Supra is a dedicated track car or a car you trailer or drive to events, this is exactly right. If you're looking for a daily-driven pad, look at a street or street/track compound instead.

Who Should Run RP-X

This is for the driver whose sessions are short and whose brakes need to work immediately. Hill climb, sprint race, time attack, autocross, or HPDE where you're not willing to give up a lap warming pads up. You get race-level friction from the first application, an aggressive bite you can lean on, and pad life that holds up to real abuse. Pick your axle, get them bedded properly, and go use them.
